Incumbency Should Be Illegal
would random citizens, paid $20 per hour to comprise the Kongress, for two years ONLY; vote YES on ANY 1,200 page bill? YES on ANY UNREAD bill? would they vote YES on any Enabling Act that was snuck thru in the middle of the night, in a patriotic brown paper bag (such as: The non-Patriot Act)? I think not. IF they did, how would that differ from the horseshit coming out of Kongress now? Did ordinary folks plan a Vietnam war in order to kill 3,000,000 Vietnamese and 60,000 Amnericans? NO. They just THINK like NeoCons. I bet they mean well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_of_Rome"The Club of Rome is a global think tank that deals with a variety of international political issues. It was founded in April 1968 and raised considerable public attention in 1972 with its report The Limits to Growth. According to the club's publications, the common enemy of humanity is man, so democracy may not be well suited to the tasks ahead. However, the threat of pollution, global warming, water shortages, and famine can be used to fulfill humanity's need for a common adversary.[citation needed]" Common adversary? How about OLIGARCHY as the common enemy? Oligarchs have accepted Malthusian assumptions for centuries. They only need two billion dupes or less, on this planet, for them to thrive and prosper. Therefore humanity is the domestic enemy. Fuck managers and experts. OUTLAW INCUMBENCY. Current Music: media monarchy episode 146 | | Monday, October 19th, 2009 | | 12:21 pm |

Before I write the epic "jersey jeffrey in the wilds of amnerica" novel before I write the skeptic "the history of Amnerican debt bubbles and why they inhale so deeply" (these are woiks in progress. cut me some slack) .. an easier task would be a sci-fi horror thriller. I WAS A MALE MEMBER OF THE GREEN PARTY OF NEW ORC STATE. U.S. Green Party National Committee "Appointed Delegates" abbreviated "delegate", are way past the first big hurdle, for shy males. They generally soldiered in the State Committee(s). Their title is not stupid. They are very egalitarian, get no pay, and wind their minds around 90,000 messages.... worth. ..of...parliamentary procedure and insanely myopic food fights. And all the rest of whom to which aforesaid to when to never. But we are gender balanced. The State Committee has "Members". They are very egalitarian, get no pay, and wind their minds around 900 items inna platform. So the enthused _lady recruit, in _her boy scout uniform, faces a petition that tells Greens that she seeks election as a Female Member .... which itself is not suspicious, until the man shows her that he seeks erect,m er um ELECTION as . . . .office sought / position: MALE MEMBER. In caps on the form. I believe Skull and Bones has adopted this practice. State committee meetings occaisionally have crashed to a hault over hilarity over the suspicious titles, we were festooned with. State Committee "is easier" than National Committee, but I pro;ly didn't work at it, enough. Tho I read and understood ALL OF IT, or else would not vote Yeah on it. Unlike motherhubbard Kongress Kritters I could mention. Tho my successor could not be bothered to tell people WOT was going on, "up there" I occasionally informed folks as to what was up, in purgatory. (OK I exaggerate, I had fun, AFTER explaining to Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intergender Greens why I was applying to be what I ultimately became: a total dick.) (there is a LGBTI caucus of course. I got no problem with it, but thank gaud I'm not immortal. 2112 AD: LGBTILSMFT. OK, I'm an a-hole too.) You only have gigabytes and the Kongress, U.N. on your side (and the Club of Rome, George Soros, Democracy Now, etc etc). Oh... and he who shall be mentioned, who was on watch and capitulated to the rogue network. Now I feel like the next crusade here (cause I really don't need a job ;-/ or a climate change ulcer ... Is to comb thru fifty books and try to learn, and explain how the American economy has run on debt bubbles since at 1946(?) ...how we have been duped repeatedly by finance oligarchs ...HOW WE are not supposed to worry our heads with economics, it's for oligarchs. ...how they are desperate to bilk us and how, in my opinion, this climate nonsense has a hidden agenda. But I sincerely am interested in the economics. I WAS A mild mannered CLIMATE CHANGER for four years. I was not a fundamentalist (I'm not quite saying that you are. You grant a concession, here and there). Climate change is real, hence VINELAND. but I have not read the latest boilerplate. I read that increasingly desperate one note song for four years. Then I began to see the retractions. The creator of the whole field, who earned a living of off climate science; Roger Revelle, becoming an apostate. Vineland, Dogpatch Inc., and Elsewhere
I will read that. At the moment, Yahoo's messed up search engine is having trouble, referring me to the last time I told you about NASA claiming that icecaps are melting on Mars and Jupiter. Fred, please stop driving your SUV on Jupiter. ; -) I am not trying to predict the weather for the next 100 years. You are. That is science fiction. Nothing wrong with myopia or science fiction. I wonder if the Vikings indulged in prediction when they arrived in Vineland, 1000 years ago. It is not known where they disembarked. It's believed they were between Novia Scotia and Labrador. They called that Vineland as it was thirty five degrees warmer THEN, and thus was one large natural tangle of grapevines. Grapevines no longer grow readily, in Novia Scotia and Labrador. peace, - Doug 38 degrees barometer steady The most exalted scientist of recent times, Einstein, physically contributed to a bomb that incinerated at least 100,000 people in five seconds. I like architechts, they don't build bombs. They don't take paychecks from the UN, to support pre-conceived covert oligarchical agendas, that pre-date your date of birth. They're not necessarily bought and paid for by corporations. My father was an architecht My brother was a scientist. He was making mescaline out of oak tree bark by age 13, and blowing up the backyard, by 15. I know what these people can do. I like engineers, they build stuff that is meant to stand up, for a predictable period of time. Scientists, by contrast, build alternately useful and/or useless houses of cards built on stilts, on a slope, in an earthquake zone. A useful but absurd example, is the Big Bang theory, which I accept because I have no better model. Think for a second: How ridiculous is the Big Bang theory? (I think I may go back to the OLD religion - the Flying Spaghetti Monster. just kidding . . . ) Less useful examples include: phrenology, alchemy, eugenics, mesmerism, Freudian analysis (ALL de-bunked by 1982.) I forget the name of the late 19th century SCIENCE, that calculated individual degrees of criminal tendencies based on the shape of a person's CHIN, but it will come to me. Freud (who is 98 percent de-bunked) may be partly responsible for Mussolini's bright ideas about subconcious motivations for large groups of people, which was mirrored in the Democratic Party Convention of 2008. Scientists also develop alternately useful, or useless, or deadly stuff, such as LRAD sound cannons, MRAP(?) corpse eating vehicles; for "the war on terror" which is actually directed at YOU. Talk about a cloud with a silver lining: if the Nazis hadn't completely discredited Eugenics, we would be living in the middle of Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" at this moment. But we're getting there. IBM has built a bar-coder, to read your fricking DNA. Genetically modified beef was in the Canadian stores for ten years before the general public found out. Chemtrails. Mandatory shots. Chinese mandatory abortions. etc etc. Whereas we watch Star Wars as if it was "deception for purposes of entertainment" (and "The Day After Tomorrow"?), oligarchs AND scientists watch this hornswaggle and think: "How could we do this? Of course, the peons will pay, but that's the idea, anyway. How could we control them some more?" keep the faith, on vacation 36 degrees barometer falling. Now Playing: "She Blinded Me with Science" - Thomas Dolby. Managers and experts gave Barack Obama a Nobel Peace Prize. This astounded me for ten seconds, despite my lack of faith in their belief system. Managers and experts in the the AMA got Dr Reich locked up, as he made it rain, repeatedly, as reported in mainstream small town media. The books and technology still exist, anyone can try it, and they will lock you up. Managers and experts got Tim Leary locked up, after he reversed the recidivism rate in violent repeat offenders. Downsizing the prison industrial complex did not fit the REAL agenda, and never will. Managers and experts dismissed Velikovsky as a nut, when he contended that the Earth may have evolved thru catastrophic (not gradual) evolution. Two years later, as he approached death, they acknowledged that he was right. Managers and historical apologists attempted to slam Noam Chomsky to the mat, for repeatedly telling U.S. the story of the U.S. massacre of 6,000 South Koreans at Cheju island, in 1944. Eventually they shut up, as the remaining ninety-five percent of the world would not let the truth, die in the hands of apologists for the system. Believe whatever you want. In this case, George W. Bush and the New York Times are in agreement with you. I reserve the right to independent thought based on experience (I'm freezing to death) and the prior hidden agendas of every manager who tried to swing the policies of the nation or the world, in a new direction, without clear mandate from those peons who will have to pay for it. The retractions whispered by the Goddard Institute are an indicator, also. Carbon taxes are the next falsely advertised multi-trillion dollar debt bubble. Rockefellers promote it, but WE will pay for it. peace, - Doug http://users.bestweb.net/~catch22/MISC/mediamonarchy_episode143b.mp3Subject: re: global warming? Managers and experts in Dutchess allowed the forclosure rate to increase to four times the 2006 level, by 2009. They foreclosed on me. They come near me again, and I'll foreclose on them with a #6 Louisville slugger. ;-) Of course, you do recall that President Shrub came out in favor of a belief in global warming, the day after the election of 2006? Simplistic, but reason for pause. I started re-reading Michael Critchton, shortly thereafter. How desperate to start the next multi-trillion dollar rip-off are these experts? Subject: the score so far: Der Fatherland: 911; the People: minus 10 Trillion Dollars Managers and experts believe that 19 moslems, averaging five foot seven in height, lead by a cocaine fiend, caused a catastrophe, on September 11 2001. (let's keep it simple and not drag in the Easter Bunny, and other crap they believe.) Peer reviewed journals (architechts and engineers for 9/11 Truth, ETC) that err on the side of believing that this was a rogue-network conducted Amnerican Inside Job, are ignored by political / media propaganda managers and experts. ...although eight patsies are still alive, the remaining dead Saudi Arabians must be punished. that requires death in Afghanistan for eight years or more, murder in Iraq, murder in Pakistan, the non-Patriot Act, extraordinary rendition and torture, and other barbarism, to compensate for. John McInsane (Republican candidate 2008, torture advocate, manager and expert) stated that this retribution could last one hundred years, in his opinion, and he approves of that. "wot a sweet li'l hunk of hebben we done growed up to be" - Throgmorton J. Kingfish nyccan verdict: 80,000 silenced by state supreme court from world of 9/11 truth: Yesterday afternoon [oct8], Justice Edward Lehner of the State Supreme Court rubberstamped Referee Louis Crespo's recommendation that the decision to establish a local commission to investigate the events of September 11th not be put before the voters on November 3rd. After showing interest in weighing both sides' arguments in the hearing, the Judge's short decision gives no indication of having considered the arguments put forth in the Petitioners' memorandum of law, nor any acknowledgement of the need for a new investigation, which the City of New York callously dismissed as "irrelevant". On a dark day for democracy, the patriotic call for answers by hundreds of 9/11 families, first responders and survivors has been stifled, and the will of the people of New York City once again denied. Judge Lehner ruled that modifying the petition to make it "legally permissible" would result in it being "inconsistent with the law sought by the signatories of the Petition" despite the fact that all 80,000 signatories agreed by signing the Petition that "If any provision of this law is held to be unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remaining provisions shall be in no manner affected thereby but shall remain in full force and effect." The deadline for inclusion on the ballot falls just before the election, making it possible to appeal Judge Lehner's decision. NYC CAN is weighing all options and will make an announcement early next week on this issue, as well as on how it will be moving forward on other fronts. Regardless of the outcome in court, the quest for answers continues full throttle. This fight is only the beginning. mythbusters message board says 'topics of 9/11 will be removed'* 3 heroes of 9/11 die of cancer in 5 days from nydailynews: A firefighter and two cops who worked at Ground Zero in the days and weeks after Sept. 11 have died of cancer in the past five days, the Daily News has learned. Family members and advocates are blaming their deaths on toxins released into the air after the twin towers collapsed - and they're urging Congress to act on a bill that would help pay for their medical care. "Everybody is denying that this stuff is connected to 9/11, but it is," said Stephen Grossman, whose son Robert died of cancer on Friday at the age of 44. Robert Grossman was a police officer in Harlem who worked at Ground Zero for several weeks after Sept. 11. "He never once said he was sorry he went down there," Grossman said. "None of them walked away even though they all knew it was really dangerous." The day after Grossman passed away, Firefighter Richard Mannetta, 44, died of cancer. Animal Farm / Amnerica is an Inside Job
In "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, Napolean the Pig starts the = manipulation of the sheep by declaring apples and milk to be bad for the sheeps' digestion. Napolean effectively gives the sheep ... a health care plan. This is oddly similar to (Obama advisor) Zbigniew Brzezinksi's following remarks: "It will soon be possible to assert almost continuous control over every citizen, and to maintain up to date files, containing even the most personal details about health and personal behavior about every citizen, in addition to more customary data. These files will be subject to almost instantaneous retreaval by authorities." - Zbigniew Brzezinksi "Between Two Ages .:. America's Role in the Technocratic Era". Early in 2009, Obama announced that he was going to invest fifty billion = dollars in electronic medical records software. http://www.radio4all.net/index.php/program/35086Clyde Lewis / Ground Zero Lounge 090831-Animal Farm-Pig Brother-Swine of the Times http://www.youtube.com/corbettreport#play/uploads/21/ENIB917yXREDr. Neil Carmen: There is no fda law requiring genetically modified food = in the U.S. to be labeled. Give-aways really. But they forget the biggest give-away of all time: $2.3 trillion missing, lost by the Pentagon, no explanation... in the year before 9/11. The inside job did not require six million federal employees. It required at least two hundred "hitmen", or perhaps as many as five hundred. The pay-off for this treason, would have averaged a mere thirty million dollars for each hitman. Therefore it cost between six billion, and ten billion dollars, in my estimation. The 2.3 trillion dollar leak, out of the back door of the Pentascam, was about three hundred times more money than was needed to pay the professional operatives. Meanwhile: http://www.infowars.com/obama-website-calls-opponents-right-wing-domestic-terrorists/Obama needs _his false flag, soon. It may be cyberwar, swine flu related, or "The Day After Tomorrow". (ask John P. Holdren about his "geo-engineering the atmosphere" scheme.) But it will probably take the form of Clinton-ite "right wing extremism", probably on the part of some alleged "Obama birther" and / or "9/11 truther", being given bombs and bags of pot by the FBI. We of course recall that the FBI already got caught giving away bombs and bags of pot to four New State residents, this year. Don't misunderstand me: this is because they love you, NEVER lie, and are always correct. merely beginning to retabulate the score: in 2007 we learned that the Stand Down Order on 9/11, was issued by .... Dick Cheney, in July 2001. The military ignored the Stand Down for another sixty-seven days, until Cheney re-inforced it, on September 11, 2001. The Air Farce has since ignored it, consistently. In 2008, we learned that Elizabeth Nelseon was in the room when the Pentagon ignored Cheney and set out to shoot down Flight 93 (which crashed near Shanksville). (it is still unproven as to whether it was fired upon, although the officially acknowledged "rain of debris" - 8 miles, 5 miles, 3 miles, 2 miles, and one mile from the crash site - makes it very likely) It might have landed, had it not been shot down. However, this would have led to testimony, that would interfere with the Myth of 9/11, and the Second Hundred Years War (now in it's first of many "Democrat" party phases). In 2009, we learned that the millions in put and call options before 9/11, trace back to brokerages connected to J.P. Morgan, Morgan-Stanley, and Goldman-Sachs. The people that BushCo, Obamessiah and the Congersvolk of the United Snakes were in such a hurry to bail-out, as opposed to bailing out General Motors and Chrysler, are the true enemy of the Republic. The Hegelian Dialectic drove U.S. right into the hands of Zbigniew Brzezinski and the Trilateral Commission. Next it will drive U.S. into the arms of either Joseph Biden, Mitt Romney, Ahnold Shwarzenegger or Jeb Bush. Ed had written: " If the federal government goes from borrowing 50% of its money to borrowing 150% of what it needs we can send each American $5000 each year. For a family of four that would be $20,000 per year. I know some will suggest we go to 200% borrowing but I feel that might be financially unsound. The states could do the same and everybody would want to move to the state that pays the most. ;) < - - - - - - - It's all counterfeit to begin with ! ! This reminds me of the last time I know of, that a great person (you're welcome ;-) proposed a Guaranteed Annual Income. (OK... besides Jello Biafra). ...paraphrasing Greg Palast: (Armed Madhouse - 2005) the Prefident got off the plane in New Orleans, which had been wrecked by The Great Mississippi flood. He shook hands, toured the City, kissed a few babies. Then he had to leave that day to go visit a millionaire in Arizona, who he was scheduled to play golf with. That was not George Bush, 2005-2006, Bush having arrived by helicopter, and having left to return to his Crawford, Texas vacation. Palast admits he's cheating a bit. He refers to the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927, and the Prefident he describes is Herbert Hoover. Hoover would not decide to campaign, and would not win the orifice of Royal Mascot, until 1928. One other parallel to Hurricane Katrina: in 1927, FEMA already existed, and would prove about as inept in 1927, as in 2005-2006. Sitting on the sidelines: Franklin D. Roosevelt, born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Too clever to be duped into running for Prefident in 1928. (my deduction). Why should a man who read the Wall Street Journal every day, preside over the impending greatest financial debacle in history (up until that time)? Instead, why not appear as the demagogue on a white horse who will save Amnerica, after some less financially astute Republican, such as Hoover; volunteers to take the credit for the First Federal Reserve Sponsored Great Depression? So he kept his mouth shut. But Huey P. Long could not. Long was the Commissioner of Public Works for Louisiana. He became very upset after a month of watching the State of Louisiana AND FEMA delay, debate, and drag their feet, providing assistance to the beleagured and waterlogged residents of Illinois, Arkansas and Louisiana. He got up on a soapbox and began handing out pamphlets, detailing: "Huey P. Long's Share The Wealth Program, for Louisiana." My deduction: taking notes the whole time, was Franklin D. Roosevelt. Huey's "socialism" called for all kinds of programs for Louisiana, deemed crazy at the time, and still unappreciated by the phony left-right politicians. The precursors of Social Security, Welfare, General Assistance, Food Stamps, Medicare were just part of what Huey (plausibly) demonstrated could be effected, by Louisiana ALONE. Worst of all: he proposed a Guaranteed Annual Income for every citizen over the age of 21, in the State. Conventional "Conservative" Republican Neo-Liberal ideology since ? 2 B.C: If you provide guaranteed income, you take the engine out of capitalism, because no one wants to woik, anymore. However, guaranteed income plans do not pay for all your food and housing for a year. The State has the money to pay for one or the other, not both, whether you are the local Bill Gates or the local Oliver Twist. So you _would be motivated to work; because food without housing, or housing without food, is kind of a drag. If we worked less, the result would be more work for the chronically under-employed. Totally meaningless work might no longer require forty hours a week of anyone's attention. By the way: Obamessiah and Company have given away Twenty Four Trillion dollars to the banksters, this year. My calculator can't deal with that, but Webster Tarpley alleges that amount to be about: Eighty Eight Thousand dollars for every legal resident adult, adolescent, child or infant, in the the gigantic mass deception called the United States. So far what I got from Eisenstein is simply food for thought. He speculates that 30,000 years ago, before agriculture, man had no language (or at best 25 sounds). So man had no technology, money or religion. He's not blaming agriculture or religion for our problems. But I find it fascinating that "humanity" had no Bible, but they were stuck with the equivalent of a deity in their midst, at all times: the terrifying power and (paradoxical) awesome benevolence, of nature! He thinks that when 10 percent of the population (the sumerians? the egyptian empire?) got to the point where they were largely dependent on agriculture, they had taken the first small steps in the direction of the age of the Machine, and religion. It is a bit of a stretch for me, to claim that the road leads to finance capitalism, however: agriculture is the first "objectification" of nature, and money is the "abstraction" of nature. He believes that there was no such thing as a neurotic cro-magnon man. They had no doubts about who they were. They 'were' the rhinocerous, the mate, the bully, the poison ivy, or whatever impinged on their minds, at each moment. was it the seventies or the eighties that brought us that short lived fad? For starters, the "Pet Rock" shows that capitalism not only creates new stuff, but loves to create entirely new categories of stuff. I'm pleased to hear that eBay is doing a booming business. My eBay seller friend, tells me that 3 million rich people, in Amnerica alone, are busy buying stuff, that is about as useful as a Pet Rock. another reflection: how alienated from _everyone (and everything?) does a society have to be, in order to invent, enjoy, and profit from: The Pet Rock? and how did they get that way? no one really knows. The American Medical Association got the Congress to outlaw the "Sister Kenny" method of curing polio, during the late 1940's. That was because it did not work, fifty percent of the time. Of course, the A.M.A's set of techniques, ALSO did not work, fifty percent of the time.
How many died because A.M.A outlawed the "SIster Kenny" method, which consisted of inexpensive hot tubs, and watered-down spirituality?
The A.M.A had a bad attitude about Dr Wilhelm Reich, as he believed in "Freudian" subconcious motives, but (unlike Freud) thought they were useful and should be expressed, not surpressed. Eventually, regional newspapers proved that Reich had gone too far (for the A.M.A). He had inadvertantly learned how to make it rain, or how to make the rain stay away. He did this repeatedly, at the request of various small towns, and farmers, using perhaps $1,000 worth of technology.
That was too much for the A.M.A. In February 1957, Reich got a tip-off that his books had been removed from the New York City Public Library system, and were about to be burned, in an incinerator on Gansvort Street, in Manhattan.
At 6 AM, Dr Reich arrived in the above mentioned back alley. The old man tried without success to stop the cops from burning two oir three hundred books of his. (He had written over thirty books. and the libraries had mutiple copies of some of them). He was arrested and thrown in an asylum, where he died six months later.

Three great men found themselves marginalized and ridiculed, because they were guilty of important discoveries in science, yet lacked a degree in these fields from college. A fourth man, Noam Chomsky, escaped that fate.
Wilhelm Reich's books were burned and he died in an asylum. He was guilty of figuring out how to control rain, without a degree in climatology.
Timothy Leary learned to reverse the recidivism rate of violent criminals. Previously, 85 percent would be back in jail after only a year's parole. Leary's test groups achieved an 85 percent success rate in staying out of jail. Leary mitigated or eliminated the need for a prison-industrial complex, by using LSD, which was legal at the time. He was damned as a drug dealer and hounded for about twenty years. (Admittedly, he was a bit of a rogue and a charlatan, yet he had found a way to reverse the recidivism rate of violent offenders, at the request of Harvard University.
Emanuel Velikovsky was a professor of mythology (with about six other degrees). His theory was that Venus entered our solar system as a runaway comet, that took a few thousand years to arrive at a stable orbit. Multiple ancient myths pointed to a near collision between Earth and Venus. That de-stabilized Mars, and lead to a near collision between Earth and Mars.
He wrote "Worlds in Collision" about the Mythological evidence. He was preparing to finish "Earth in Upheaval", about the geological evidence.
He was invited to a scienterrific symposium, where he was damned as a heretic and a moron. They dared him to make a prediction based on his theory. He promptly predicted that Venus was WARMER, and Mars cooler, than Earth.
While that seems like common sense, the scienterrific community in 1960, actually were stoopid enough to think that green looking Venus was cooler, and reddish looking Mars, was warmer, than Earth.
Velikovsky published the second book, and lived another two years. That was just long enough for the scientific fundamentalists to change their minds, and concede that they had the relative temperatures of Venus and Mars, entirely wrong. That alone does not validate the theory. However, within a few years after Velikovsky died, a substantial minority of earth scientists began to accept the possibility, based on the following geological fact: A glacier is not supposed to move fossils thousands of miles from East to West, UNLESS: the poles have shifted drastically, due to a near collision with a huge (planetary) object.
All of these men were guilty of important discoveries, while lacking University credentials in the respective fields.
Noam Chomsky escaped the fate of being "guilty" of important discoveries in history, while lacking college history credentials. In my opinion, this was because by 1990, he had thirty books in at least seven languages, being read all over the world. It was simply too late to slap that heretic to the matt, without causing an international furor, worse than the controversy surrounding the deaths of JFK/RFK/MLK.

The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam By John Coleman The key players are now all in place in Washington and in state governments across America to officially label carbon dioxide as a pollutant and enact laws that tax we citizens for our carbon footprints. Only two details stand in the way, the faltering economic times and a dramatic turn toward a colder climate. The last two bitter winters have led the public to be skeptical that there is runaway global warning. There is now awareness that there may be reason to question whether CO2 is a pollutant and a significant greenhouse gas. How did we ever get to this point where bad science is driving big government? And how will we ever stop it? The story begins with an Oceanographer named Roger Revelle. He served with the Navy in World War II. After the war he became the Director of the Scripps Oceanographic Institute in La Jolla in San Diego, California. Revelle saw the opportunity to obtain major funding from the Navy for doing measurements and research on the ocean around the Pacific Atolls where the US military was conducting atomic bomb tests. He greatly expanded the Institute's areas of interest and among others hired Hans Suess, a noted Chemist from the University of Chicago, who was very interested in the traces of carbon in the environment from the burning of fossil fuels. Revelle tagged on to Suess studies and co-authored a paper with him in 1957. The paper raises the possibility that the carbon dioxide might be creating a greenhouse effect and causing atmospheric warming. It seems to be a plea for funding for more studies. Funding, frankly, is where Revelle's mind was most of the time. Revelle hired a Geochemist named David Keeling to devise a way to measure the atmospheric content of Carbon dioxide. In 1960 Keeling published his first paper showing the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and linking the increase to the burning of fossil fuels. These two research papers became the bedrock of the science of global warming, even though they offered no proof that carbon dioxide was in fact a greenhouse gas. In addition they failed to explain how this trace gas, only a tiny fraction of the atmosphere, could have any significant impact on temperatures. Now let me take you back to the 1950s when this was going on. Our cities were entrapped in a pall of pollution from the crude internal combustion engines that powered cars and trucks back then and from the uncontrolled emissions from power plants and factories. Cars and factories and power plants were filling the air with all sorts of pollutants. There was a valid and serious concern about the health consequences of this pollution and a strong environmental movement was developing to demand action. Government accepted this challenge and new environmental standards were set. Scientists and engineers came to the rescue. New reformulated fuels were developed for cars, as were new high tech, computer controlled engines and catalytic converters. By the mid seventies cars were no longer big time polluters, emitting only some carbon dioxide and water vapor from their tail pipes. Likewise, new fuel processing and smoke stack scrubbers were added to industrial and power plants and their emissions were greatly reduced, as well. But an environmental movement had been established and its funding and very existence depended on having a continuing crisis issue. So the research papers from Scripps came at just the right moment. With them came the birth of an issue; man-made global warming from the carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels. Revelle and Keeling used this new alarmism to keep their funding growing. Other researchers with environmental motivations and a hunger for funding saw this developing and climbed aboard as well. The research grants began to flow and alarming hypothesis began to show up everywhere. The Keeling curve showed a steady rise in CO2 in atmosphere during the period since oil and coal were discovered and used by man. As of today, carbon dioxide has increased from 215 to 385 parts per million. But, despite the increases, it is still only a trace gas in the atmosphere. While the increase is real, the percentage of the atmosphere that is CO2 remains tiny, about 41 hundredths of one percent. Several hypothesis emerged in the 70s and 80s about how this tiny atmospheric component of CO2 might cause a significant warming. But they remained unproved. Years have passed and the scientists kept reaching out for evidence of the warming and proof of their theories. And, the money and environmental claims kept on building up. Back in the 1960s, this global warming research came to the attention of a Canadian born United Nation's bureaucrat named Maurice Strong. He was looking for issues he could use to fulfill his dream of one-world government. Strong organized a World Earth Day event in Stockholm, Sweden in 1970. From this he developed a committee of scientists, environmentalists and political operatives from the UN to continue a series of meetings. Strong developed the concept that the UN could demand payments from the advanced nations for the climatic damage from their burning of fossil fuels to benefit the underdeveloped nations, a sort of CO2 tax that would be the funding for his one-world government. But, he needed more scientific evidence to support his primary thesis. So Strong championed the establishment of the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This was not a pure climate study scientific organization, as we have been led to believe. It was an organization of one-world government UN bureaucrats, environmental activists and environmentalist scientists who craved the UN funding so they could produce the science they needed to stop the burning of fossil fuels. Over the last 25 years they have been very effective. Hundreds of scientific papers, four major international meetings and reams of news stories about climatic Armageddon later, the UN IPCC has made its points to the satisfaction of most and even shared a Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore. At the same time, that Maurice Strong was busy at the UN, things were getting a bit out of hand for the man who is now called the grandfather of global warming, Roger Revelle. He had been very politically active in the late 1950's as he worked to have the University of California locate a San Diego campus adjacent to Scripps Institute in La Jolla. He won that major war, but lost an all important battle afterward when he was passed over in the selection of the first Chancellor of the new campus. He left Scripps finally in 1963 and moved to Harvard University to establish a Center for Population Studies. It was there that Revelle inspired one of his students to become a major global warming activist. This student would say later, "It felt like such a privilege to be able to hear about the readouts from some of those measurements in a group of no more than a dozen undergraduates. Here was this teacher presenting something not years old but fresh out of the lab, with profound implications for our future!" The student described him as "a wonderful, visionary professor" who was "one of the first people in the academic community to sound the alarm on global warming," That student was Al Gore. He thought of Dr. Revelle as his mentor and referred to him frequently, relaying his experiences as a student in his book Earth in the Balance, published in 1992 So there it is, Roger Revelle was indeed the grandfather of global warming. His work had laid the foundation for the UN IPCC, provided the anti-fossil fuel ammunition to the environmental movement and sent Al Gore on his road to his books, his movie, his Nobel Peace Prize and a hundred million dollars from the carbon credits business. What happened next is amazing. The global warming frenzy was becoming the cause celeb of the media. After all the media is mostly liberal, loves Al Gore, loves to warn us of impending disasters and tell us "the sky is falling, the sky is falling". The politicians and the environmentalist loved it, too.But the tide was turning with Roger Revelle. He was forced out at Harvard at 65 and returned to California and a semi retirement position at UCSD. There he had time to rethink Carbon Dioxide and the greenhouse effect. The man who had inspired Al Gore and given the UN the basic research it needed to launch its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was having second thoughts. In 1988 he wrote two cautionary letters to members of Congress. He wrote, "My own personal belief is that we should wait another 10 or 20 years to really be convinced that the greenhouse effect is going to be important for human beings, in both positive and negative ways." He added, "We should be careful not to arouse too much alarm until the rate and amount of warming becomes clearer." And in 1991 Revelle teamed up with Chauncey Starr, founding director of the Electric Power Research Institute and Fred Singer, the first director of the U.S. Weather Satellite Service, to write an article for Cosmos magazine. They urged more research and begged scientists and governments not to move too fast to curb greenhouse CO2 emissions because the true impact of carbon dioxide was not at all certain and curbing the use of fossil fuels could have a huge negative impact on the economy and jobs and our standard of living. I have discussed this collaboration with Dr. Singer. He assures me that Revelle was considerably more certain than he was at the time that carbon dioxide was not a problem. Did Roger Revelle attend the Summer enclave at the Bohemian Grove in Northern California in the Summer of 1990 while working on that article? Did he deliver a lakeside speech there to the assembled movers and shakers from Washington and Wall Street in which he apologized for sending the UN IPCC and Al Gore onto this wild goose chase about global warming? Did he say that the key scientific conjecture of his lifetime had turned out wrong? The answer to those questions is, "I think so, but I do not know it for certain". I have not managed to get it confirmed as of this moment. It's a little like Las Vegas; what is said at the Bohemian Grove stays at the Bohemian Grove. There are no transcripts or recordings and people who attend are encouraged not to talk. Yet, the topic is so important, that some people have shared with me on an informal basis. Roger Revelle died of a heart attack three months after the Cosmos story was printed. Oh, how I wish he were still alive today. He might be able to stop this scientific silliness and end the global warming scam.Al Gore has dismissed Roger Revelle's Mea culpa as the actions of a senile old man. And, the next year, while running for Vice President, he said the science behind global warming is settled and there will be no more debate. From 1992 until today, he and his cohorts have refused to debate global warming and when they are asked about we skeptics, they insult us and call us names. So today we have the acceptance of carbon dioxide as the culprit of global warming. It is concluded that when we burn fossil fuels we are leaving a dastardly carbon footprint which we must pay Al Gore or the environmentalists to offset. Our governments on all levels are considering taxing the use of fossil fuels. The Federal Environmental Protection Agency is on the verge of naming CO2 as a pollutant and strictly regulating its use to protect our climate. The new President and the US congress are on board. Many state governments are moving on the same course. We are already suffering from this CO2 silliness in many ways. Our energy policy has been strictly hobbled by no drilling and no new refineries for decades. We pay for the shortage this has created every time we buy gas. On top of that the whole thing about corn based ethanol costs us millions of tax dollars in subsidies. That also has driven up food prices. And, all of this is a long way from over. And, I am totally convinced there is no scientific basis for any of it. Global Warming. It is the hoax. It is bad science. It is a high jacking of public policy. It is no joke. It is the greatest scam in history. John Coleman 1-28-2009 Current Music: Bob Dylan + The Band - "Lo! and Behold" | | 5:29 am |
